Café Coffee Day installs wireless charging spots at their cafes

Bengaluru headquartered café chain Café Coffee Day has partnered with wireless power solutions provider PowerSquare to introduce wireless charging network at their cafes across India. About 300-plus wireless charging spots are now available across 100 outlets in leading metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai.

This network will support all smartphones enabled with wireless charging and will soon expand to 350 plus cafes with more than 2000 wireless charging spots in other metro cities soon.

With mobile being an integral part of its young consumers’ lives, the café network is strengthening its digital technology to keep its customers connected at all times. After making free Wi-Fi available nationally at several cafes, it is launching wireless charging for the first time.

Customers can now place their Qi-enabled smartphones on the surface and wirelessly charge their phones. Aim is to eliminate the hassle of carrying charging cables. The wireless charging modules will be installed on café tables.

Venu Madhav, CEO of Café Coffee Day, said, “We pioneered the café culture and introduced the Indian youth to international coffees and unique coffee brewing techniques. We have also led the way with technological innovations based on consumer needs and trends. From introducing high speed Wi-Fi at our cafes to being the first to try out digitized tables, we have believed in investing in digital technology to enhance in-café experience for our young customers.”

Cafe Coffee Day and PowerSquare will be expanding this service across cafes in other cities including Hyderabad and Pune.
