MUMBAI: Following the footsteps of his teammates Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan has decided to turn entrepreneur.
Dhawan, along with his wife Aesha, unveiled premium home décor brand, ‘DaONE Home’ on Sunday.
To start with soft furnishings such as bed linen, cushions and table linen, DaOne Home will expand into all home décor products including glassware, hard woods and more.
Talking to ET, Dhawan said he and his wife are passionate about home décor. “We were very particular while setting up our home and that is when we realised that we both are passionate and have very distinctive style, a natural extension of our own personalities. That stayed with me and the idea to start something of my own, about which I can feel passionate about, was always there. DaONE Home is result of that,” he said.
While Dhawan refused to share quantum of investment, he added that it’s entirely his personal money. “I come from a business family and have seen and learned from my father since childhood. It was always in me and it was just a matter of time.”
The brand DaONE is named after what his peers fondly call him. The products will be available online initially on DaONE Home website, and later the company will tie up with ecommerce platforms. “We will look for offline later,” Dhawan said.
