GST collection for November drops to Rs 97,637 crore

GST NAA finds Hardcastle Restaurants guilty of profiteering Rs 7.49 croreGovernment’s GST collection for the month of November dropped to Rs 97,637 crore after it crossed the Rs one trillion mark last month on the back of anti-evasion measures and consumption boost on account of festive demand.

Of the total GST collection, CGST is Rs. 16,812 crore, SGST is Rs. 23,070 crore, IGST is Rs. 49,726 crore. Total number of GSTR 3B Returns filed for the month of October up to 30th November, 2018 is 69.6 lakh, Ministry of Finance said.

The drop comes amid government’s efforts to meet the fiscal deficit target of 3.3 per cent for the current fiscal.

Latest data showed that the government breached its fiscal deficit target at the end of October on the back of shortfall of revenues.

The government has committed to achieving GST collection target of Rs one lakh crore monthly.
